Ever since its debut at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, cotton candy, or fairy floss as it was known then, has been quite popular.  Every carnival has cotton candy for sale, so we make it possible for you to have it at your carnival. 

A cotton candy machine works by melting sugar near the element at the bottom of the large bowl that sits atop the unit.  It then rotates very quickly – as much as 3,450 revolutions a minute – and flings gossamer thin strands of the melted sugar towards the edge of the bowl.  Pick a colored sugar to have a brightly colored candy tower.  Put several colors together for a cute rainbow colored one.

To capture it, use one of the supplied wands and tuck it into the edge of the floss.  Then spin it around slowly and allow the threads to wind around the wand.  It’s as much fun to eat as you remember!
