When you want to make a big impression with a super huge screen and show a favorite movie or you want to broadcast a closed circuit video feed for many others to be able to view a once in a lifetime event, you need a projector and public address speakers.
Your projector can be connected to your computer for presentations, or to a DVD player to show a film. Some projectors are super bright – up to 4,000 lumens. These can cover a large screen for a crowd as big as 300, even in less than ideal lighting conditions. The amount of ambient light will impact your images, washing them out, so you will want to rent a projector that can do its best to overcome the light.
When you are setting up your projector, please make sure that the room is big enough. You will have greater success in a room that is longer than it is wide, and you should seat as many people out of the way of the projection so it cuts down on shadows moving across the screen as people move around. Of course the bigger the room, the bigger your screen can be.
Screens come in a number of materials – vinyl, fabric, or projection paint. You can find a room with screens mounted in the ceiling, or use a movable screen that you bring into the space. Check your viewing angle if you have the chance to be sure that everyone will be able to see the screen at an optimal angle.
Using projection paint lets you bring the movie to a lot more people – you can cover an entire wall with your images. Projection paint does not tear, either, so if you have a kitty that likes to stretch, and ends up shredding a few things in the process, your wall is going to be much safer.
Once you’ve set up the projector, it’s time to bring sound to the party. PA speakers mount on brackets and connect to the computer or DVD player directly, or through a receiver to connect everything through. Most projectors do not come with any audio capacity, so be sure to consider this when you set up for your party.
You may wonder what you need the tripod for. If you are using a screen, it’s perfect to hold the screen and adjust the height so everyone can see the presentation. You can also get speaker stands to mount your speakers up for better sound broadcasting.
